Bill regarding this has also been raised in the Great Parliament. This is why the eyes of the parents of the students are shining. Everyone is excited, happy, confident, excited about the future of higher education. Because if you wait a few more days, none of the students in Meherpur will have to endure hardships and go somewhere far to get higher education. Rather students from far away will come to Meherpur for higher education. Undoubtedly, if this is implemented, Meherpur’s income basket will be much heavier. The socioeconomic status of the area will change. That’s not the end – how many more good news are now lengthening the waiting list of Meherpur’s development.<\/p>\n
All in all, Meherpur is moving forward at breakneck speed with a bunch of development projects and plans. Meherpur, famous for historical Mujibnagar, was a backward town till now. This agriculturally dependent border district was not favored by any post-independence government. However, this time, the Prime Minister himself has set his sights on the historic Meherpur Mujibnagar, the pilgrimage site of the Liberation War. Along with this, the dreams of Meherpur-1 Constituency MP Public Administration State Minister Professor Farhad Hossain have come true today. All in all, the wind of development is blowing across Meherpur district.<\/p>\n
The government has undertaken some important development projects in this district which, if implemented, will create huge employment opportunities in the district and will make economic progress in this district. A new horizon of economy will be introduced. All avenues of opportunity will be revealed. Development thinkers claim that three noteworthy factors are working as an equation for the development of Meherpur. For example, one- Mujibnagar Meherpur is the only place in the country named after Bangabandhu, two- the Minister of the Ministry of which the Prime Minister is the Minister of State, Meherpur’s Susantan MP Farhad Hossain, three- Mujibnagar of Meherpur was created from Bangabandhu of Gopalganj. So the government wants to weave Gopalganj and Mujibnagar together. Although some development projects around the Mujibnagar Memorial area were completed in the past, none of them came to fruition due to political considerations.<\/p>\n
From that regret, the present government has undertaken a planned development project of thousands of crores of rupees to make the historical Mujibnagar of international standard. If it is implemented, it will be the biggest liberation war-based project in Bangladesh, not only in the country or in Asia, but to keep alive the memory of the country’s independence. If the project is implemented, the image of Mujibnagar will change. Domestic and foreign tourists will be crowded. Various opportunities for employment and trade will be created. Revenue income and economic standard of people will increase. The full-fledged university at Meherpur will thus be the largest seat of higher education.<\/p>\n
Thousands of local and foreign students will come here, get admission, study, and have housing facilities. Being near the border, this university will be most convenient and attractive to students from India. 30 to 35 thousand students will gather in this university courtyard. As a result, it will have a huge impact on the market economy of Meherpur. Meherpur will become a well-known name to the educated people of the country and abroad. Chahiuddin Textile Institute is being built on the side of Bandar Road to Mujibnagar. Mujibnagar Technical School and College and Government Technical Training Center located near Police Lines has been opened. Through these students of this district will advance not only in higher education but also in technical education. The young women of this district will become skilled manpower. That workforce will then be able to send more remittances through overseas employment.<\/p>\n
Considering the historical importance of historic Mujibnagar, the government has started the construction of Mujibnagar-Meherpur-Kushtia railway via Chuadanga-Darshana. If this railway is constructed, all the doors of the district will be opened to the entire country. It will be possible to bring products easily. Business opportunities and scope will expand. Independence Road has been built on the border as a contribution to India’s friendship. National leaders and Indian guests from India came to Mujibnagar on April 17, 1971 through this road.<\/p>\n
In recognition of India’s contribution to the country’s independence, the two countries have decided to construct a check post and land port at Mujibnagar. For this, 30 acres of land will also be acquired. This land port and railway will play a major role in promoting India-Bangladesh trade and tourism relations, say businessmen. Due to the historic Mujibnagar, Meherpur-Kushtia road from Mujibnagar is being widened to four lanes at a cost of around Tk 4.5 billion. This drastic change in communication will put Meherpur on the highway of development. Then the distance between Meherpur and the northern region will be reduced.<\/p>\n
Public Administration State Minister Farhad Hossain, MP’s sincerity and vigorous action, apart from the basic and mega projects mentioned, the Bhairab river which surrounds three sides of the district has been re-excavated at a cost of Rs. In this, 21 thousand hectares of land on both sides of the river are again receiving irrigation facilities. Now there is no need to face crop loss due to water crisis during drought season. Due to the increase in water flow of Bhairav due to mining, the river bed is producing fish worth hundreds of crores of rupees annually.<\/p>\n
A higher educational institution called ‘Mujibnagar University’ is being established in Meherpur. For this, the cabinet has approved the draft of the ‘Mujibnagar University, Meherpur Act, 2022’.<\/p>\n
