The consignment contains one lakh hydroxychloroquine tablets and 50,000 sterile surgical latex gloves.<\/p>\n<p>The Indian High Commission in Dhaka said this.<\/p>\n<p>Zahid Malek, Minister of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of Bangladesh, appreciated India&#8217;s continued support in providing necessary medical supplies, protective equipment and capacity building. \u201cWe welcome the help of a neighbor friend in times of crisis,\u201d he said. The High Commissioner reiterated India&#8217;s commitment to the Government of Bangladesh in its fight against Kovid-19.<\/p>\n<p>This assistance has been provided under the SAARC Covid-19 emergency fund and to assist the Government of Bangladesh in its efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19. The medical supplies have been sent to the Central Medical Store Depot of the Government of Bangladesh. Earlier, the drugs were brought from India with the help of Biman Bangladesh. The High Commission thanked the airline for this timely assistance.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the formation of the SAARC Covid-19 Emergency Fund with \u09aa\u09cd\u09b0\u09be\u09a5\u09ae\u09bf\u0995 10 million in first aid from India. The first consignment of emergency medical assistance with 30,000 surgical masks and 15,000 head-covers under this fund was launched on March 25 by the Foreign Minister of the Government of Bangladesh. It was handed over to Abdul Momen.<\/p>\n<p>In view of India&#8217;s commitment to a collaborative effort to fight COVID-19 in the SAARC region, separate video conferences were held between health experts and trade representatives from SAARC countries on March 26 and April 8 to discuss specific measures, trade facilitation and exchange of best practices. Health officials in SAARC countries are maintaining uninterrupted communication to exchange best practices and benefit each other.<\/p>\n<p>Indian healthcare experts have also designed e-ITEC training modules in the form of short webinars for healthcare providers in SAARC countries on Covid-19 management strategies, skills enhancement, best practice exchange and related aspects.<\/p>\n<p>April 18-21 All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur conducted this online course where 90 health workers from Bangladesh participated. Under the ITEC initiative of the Government of India, the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India is organizing the second online course till April 26, 2010.<\/p>\n<p>As a friend and neighbor, India is ready to stand by Bangladesh in adverse times.
