The demand was made in a notification issued by Swadhinata Nurses Parishad, Society of Nurses Safety and Rights and Bangladesh Basic Graduate Nurses Society on Saturday night (April 25).<\/p>\n

In 2011, the Prime Minister conferred second class status on nurses in recognition of their work. But Dr. Jafrullah has been insulting the nurses for a long time. Which is extremely defamatory for nurses.<\/p>\n
Swadhinata Nurses Parishad Secretary General Iqbal Hossain Sabuj said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given second class status to nurses. He has no right to criticize nurses. Corona’s statement at this time will discourage nurses in the service work in this country. Immediately Dr. Jafrullah has to apologize unconditionally to the entire nation including the nurse community. Otherwise, the nurses of Bangladesh will be forced to suppress him severely.<\/p>\n
Bangladesh Basic Graduate Nurses Society Secretary General Anwar Hossain Babu said. Zafarullah has repeatedly used provocative words and insults against the nurses. We strongly condemn his statement.<\/p>\n
Sabbir Mahmud Tihan, secretary general of the Society of Nurses Safety and Rights, said. Jafrullah said nurses are not affected by corona because they do not work. But at present, about 220 nurses have been infected in the country while providing services to patients suffering from corona. 300 nurses are in quarantine.<\/p>\n
He said the nurses were insulted. Jafrullah did not only disrespect the nurses; Honorable Prime Minister has also been disrespected.<\/p>\n
Leaders of various organizations of nurses also warned to take legal action if her statement is not withdrawn at this moment.<\/p>\n
