Of these, three per cent are of Indian descent. The Caribbeans are in second place. 2.9 per cent.<br \/>\nOf Pakistani descent, 2.1 percent died.<\/p>\n<p>Health Secretary Matt Hancock is concerned about the deaths of people in this BAME community. &#8220;This information has really raised my concerns,&#8221; he said at an event last week. Dr Chand Nagpal, council chair of the British Medical Association, claimed that the government should take immediate steps to address this horrific inequality. Everyone in the society must be protected equally. Appropriate action needs to be taken by identifying the dangers that people in the BAME community are facing.<\/p>\n<p>But the question is, why such inequality? Experts say this inequality has been seen in corona deaths for a number of reasons. People in this community are more prone to heart disease and diabetes, they say. There is also a lack of vitamins.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, family ties are such that it is difficult to maintain social distance. Dr Ramesh Mehta, President of the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, said, \u201cInitiatives have been taken to reduce the impact of the virus on BAME citizens.
