There are no more corona patients there: China
Authorities say the number of corona patients in the source city has dropped to almost zero as the virus spreads around the world.
China’s Wuhan has made headlines numerous times over the past four months. Because the infection of the novel coronavirus started from this city. However, at a time when the world is reeling from the onslaught of the deadly virus, the number of corona patients in its source city has dropped to zero, authorities said.
Mi Feng, a spokesman for the National Health Commission of China, told the media: Thanks to the joint efforts of Wuhan and health workers across the country.
According to government estimates, 47,452 people have been infected with the coronavirus in Uhan so far, accounting for about 56 percent of all patients in China. The death toll in Wuhan has risen to 3,069, accounting for 74 percent of all deaths in China.
A total of 63,909 people have been infected with corona in the country so far and 4,738 people have died. On Saturday, Chinese authorities said they had identified 11 new corona patients.
Due to the Corona epidemic, a lockdown order was issued in late January in the entire province of Hubei, including Uhan. All kinds of vehicles, factories, aviation were closed. Strict restrictions are given for going out without buying emergency necessities.
Wuhan authorities recently lifted the lockdown as the epidemic came under control. However, foreigners are still not allowed to enter the city without examination. This is because the number of corona patients is increasing in the northeastern province of Heilongjiang through the return of Russian nationals, even though the infection has decreased in the rest of the region.
