China has rejected calls for an impartial international inquiry into the origin of the coronavirus. Chen Wen, a top Chinese diplomat in Britain, told the BBC the demand was politically motivated and that doing so would hamper the way China is dealing with the epidemic.

Finding out about the source of Covid Nineteen and how it spread early will help combat the disease.

The virus is thought to have originated from a wildlife market in Wuhan last year.

Meanwhile, a report from the European Union has accused China of spreading misleading information about the crisis.

The report said Russia and, to a lesser extent, China were spreading “conspiracy theories” targeting the European Union and its neighbors.

US President Donald Trump has also repeatedly spoken out against China over its role in tackling the outbreak. Authorities in the US state of Missouri have filed a lawsuit against the Chinese government alleging that China has not done enough to stop the spread of the virus.

However, scientists have speculated that the virus was created in a laboratory in Uhan.

Where is China’s objection?
From the very beginning of the epidemic, there have been calls for international investigators to be allowed in China to investigate where the virus spread.

Last Thursday, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said he would push for the inquiry at the World Health Council’s annual meeting next week. This council is the policy maker for the World Health Organization. Australia is a member of the Executive Board of this Council.

The meeting is expected to discuss “education” from the current epidemic to address future health emergencies.

However, Chen told the BBC that his country would not comment on the international inquiry.

“The proposal for an impartial investigation is politically motivated,” he said.

“We are fighting the virus right now. We are fully focused on controlling this virus. Why is there talk of investigation now? This investigation will not only disrupt our fight. We also need to use our resources in other sectors. ”

“This initiative is being taken for political consideration. No one will agree to this. This investigation will not be of any use to anyone. ”

Chen said there were many rumors about the source of the virus. He called such misleading information “dangerous” and said it was “as dangerous as a political virus and a coronavirus.” He commented that it is more dangerous than that.

EU
Security Correspondent Gordon Carrera says European governments have so far shown reluctance to engage in a diplomatic dispute with China at this critical time.

He says many European countries are relying on China for vital medical equipment to deal with the crisis. They want to keep the channels of information exchange open with China, through which they want to understand how the current virus outbreak happened and how to prevent such incidents in the future.

The exchange also requires them to be careful enough, said a China expert on Britain’s security agency.

Charles Parton, an expert at Rousseau, said: “Now is not the time for rhetoric and conflict. Because the matter is very complicated. ”

But Gordon Karera says the issue is being heavily politicized in the United States, especially in the run-up to the election. Gone.

What is in the EU report?
The EU claimed in its report that Chinese officials and the country’s state-controlled media had tried to avoid responsibility for the outbreak. They have avoided the origin of this virus from Uhan.

The report further states that some state-controlled social media channels in China have speculated that the spread of the virus may be linked to visits by US military officials.

The author of the report further said that Russia has spread misleading information in Europe. Russia’s state media – as they claim – has undertaken a concerted campaign to downplay the EU’s role in tackling the crisis.
