A sudden rhythm in the continuity of the festival that has been going on for many years. Despite all the preparations, the color of the Cannes Film Festival faded to the coronavirus. However, efforts are being made to find new ways to implement this arrangement in new ways. The organizers said this in an email message recently.
The 63rd Cannes Festival was announced to be postponed until June-July last month. But with the French government stepping up its lockdown this week, organizers are missing out on that option. All in all, due to the global disaster, it is not possible for them to hold the festival in a familiar form every time.
On April 13, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that the country would remain locked down until May 11. Besides, no festival or ceremony can be held till mid-July.
In a statement, the organizers said, “We initially thought we would hold the event in the last week of June or early July. But according to the decision of the president, that opportunity is no more. In fact, it is very difficult to make the festival recognizable in 2020. ‘
However, the organizers did not mention in the statement what the new shape of the festival will be. They have already started discussions to take a decision in this regard. In their words, ‘Film professionals think the Cannes festival is a necessary pillar for world cinema. They want to see this event in 2020 by any means. We hope to be able to announce the new look of the festival immediately.
Meanwhile, the parallel section of Cannes Festival’s director’s Fortnite, Critics Week and ACID’s 2020 event have been canceled. We will discuss with the organizers of the ear how to help the pictures submitted in these three sections.
Cannes is one of the largest annual film festivals in the world. It was scheduled to take place in the south of France from 12 to 23 May.
