Proposals for corona prevention and protection from epidemics

The government has already taken several important decisions to prevent and treat the corona virus and the Prime Minister is working day and night. As a result, there is still one last chance to get Bangladesh out of the deadly 4th stage of infection. But all the initiatives are going to fail due to lack of coordination of various ministries and departments and unawareness of the people. The country is in grave danger today. In order to avoid the serious risk of stage 4 infection, it is very important to implement the following recommendations within the next seven to ten days. If it can be done, then I hope Bangladesh can be freed from the corona virus epidemic in a few days.

1. Formation of National Disaster Council under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister on an urgent basis. (Rationale: Other ministries are not coordinating with the Ministry of Health.)

2. In the next seven to ten days, all the areas of Dhaka and all the divisions, districts and upazilas of the country where the corona virus infected patients have been identified, their families and all the people who come in contact with the infected person and all the suspected ward / village / mahalla based families. Corona test (minimum ten thousand per day) should be done by employing maximum manpower. Those who test positive should be taken to institutional isolation quickly and those who come in contact should be taken to institutional quarantine. (Rationale: People cannot adhere to isolation / quarantine in their homes, but infect neighbors and other family members. In the first step, only hotspots in infected districts / areas, especially hotspots, should be brought under corona test, for which infected 60 district medical college hospitals,)

3. In every division, district, upazila, union and village of Bangladesh, those who have minimal corona symptoms and have died of corona symptoms, all of them have to undergo corona test in the next seven to ten days by employing maximum manpower and all of them have to undergo institutional isolation till report is received. Must be quarantined. Samples can be collected by setting up Corona test booths without PPE like in South Korea or by collecting CHPs working in technologies of medical colleges, districts, upazilas, union hospitals and community clinics, so that samples can be collected quickly anywhere in the country. Those who do not have experience in sample collection need to provide training through fast online / video conferencing.

4. Although the government has imposed lockdowns in areas and districts affected by the corona virus, many people are not following the lockdown properly due to public awareness. In order to make the lockdown 100% effective, curfew or emergency law must be enforced now. If you can keep everyone at home for 8 to 10 days with a little effort, the infection can be controlled. In all the districts which were not infected, no one was allowed to enter from outside and no one was allowed to go to another district.

By forming two teams of experts, one team will have to take all sorts of measures only for preventive work and the other team will have to take all kinds of measures related to medical management including ensuring the necessary equipment including skilled manpower in the hospitals.

5. Only those who can afford it will have to deliver food for free and door-to-door for all poor and low-income people through the army, navy, BGB, police, RAB, Ansar, deputy commissioners, UNOs and public representatives. (Rationale: Then no one will leave the house for food or any other excuse and no one will suffer without eating. If there is no food in the house, people will leave the house hungry even after hundreds of attempts. China, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Kerala, India This method has been successful.)

. There are a large number of express trains, steamers, launches, quality hotels, Ijtema grounds in Ashulia, stadiums, public and private hospital beds in Bangladesh. Arrangements have been made to set up temporary corona hospitals or isolation and quarantine centers in district bogies, train bogies, launch steamer cabins, hotel cabins, ijtema grounds, Dhaka and other districts where corona patients have been identified. (Rationale: Infections can be controlled by keeping corona-infected and suspected patients in such centers. Isolation / quarantine cannot be 100% effective at home, as not everyone has multiple toilets and adequate rooms in their homes.)

. Fire department, WASA, city corporations, municipalities at all divisional, district, upazila and union levels of the country have to spray disinfectant on the roads every day. Especially those divisions and districts infected. All vehicles coming from outside should be sprayed with vehicle disinfectant with wheels outside the gate before entering the house / office and all those who go outside the house should spray shoes / sandals outside the main gate of the house and keep the shoes outside the house. (Rationale: Corona virus infects flats / homes through vehicle wheels and shoes)

. From March 1, 2020, all those who have entered Bangladesh from abroad through airports, land ports, seaports, seaports, railways, all of them and their families will have to test the corona. (Except those who have been tested and are healthy after completing 14 days of quarantine) or return home from home to be monitored regularly. All those who tested positive for corona should be taken to institutional isolation quickly and those who were in contact with corona patients should be taken to institutional quarantine. (Rationale: Corona virus cannot be detected by measuring body temperature alone. Passengers arriving from abroad were screened at all ports, including airports. Body samples were required from all of them).

9. Creating a database of all the information of the people infected with Corona virus, tracking their travels through mobile phone tracking, extracting contract tracing and quickly testing and isolating the people who come in contact. The Ministry of ICT can take initiative in this regard. (Rationale: South Korea, Taiwan has succeeded in controlling the number of victims through contract tracing).

10. Strict observance of the 31 points directed by the Hon’ble Prime Minister.

11. If the body has good immunity, the person infected with corona virus recovers faster and the risk of getting infected is less. Ginger, cinnamon, cloves, licorice, kaljira, turmeric, triphala and basil leaves should be consumed as a tea to increase immunity and as an antidote to the coronavirus. Give food advice twice. (All these materials can be delivered to all the houses through the representatives of the Deputy Commissioner, UNO, City Corporation, Municipality, Union Parishad).
