Debut of Jamaat’s new reformist party ‘AB’ party

A 222-member convening committee of the new party has been announced with former secretary AFM Solaiman Chowdhury as convener and former student leader Mujibur Rahman Manju as member secretary.

The section that came out of Jamaat-e-Islami has formed a new political party by disagreeing on various internal issues of the party including opposition to the war of liberation. The name of the party is ‘Amar Bangladesh Party’ or AB Party.

A 222-member convening committee of the new party has been announced with former secretary AFM Solaiman Chowdhury as convener and former student leader Mujibur Rahman Manju as member secretary.

The announcement was made at a press conference at the party office in Vijayanagar on Saturday afternoon.
