Israel’s military reports that it has successfully intercepted 99% of Iranian drones launched toward the country since the conflict began just over a week ago.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the nation’s multi-layered air defense system has downed over 470 one-way attack drones, including roughly 40 during overnight assaults.
Despite the high interception rate, a few drones managed to breach Israeli defenses. One struck the northern town of Beit Shean on Saturday morning, while another landed in an unpopulated area in the south.
Since the onset of hostilities, Iran has launched more than 1,000 drones. While many failed to reach Israeli territory, falling short or being intercepted by allied forces, a small number did penetrate Israel’s airspace.
