Social media Facebook is in trouble for leaking user information again. Recently, cyber security experts have published a report on this. Naked Security, an IT security company, claims that the phone numbers of 309 million users leaked from Facebook have been leaked online.
Another cybersecurity organization, Cybel and cybersecurity expert Bob Diachenko, made a similar report.
According to the report, Siebel recently found a database of 268 million Facebook profiles open for sale on the Dark Web. Siebel buys it for just ৫ 540 to verify the information. The records contained information such as Facebook’s user ID, email address, full name, phone number, age, relationship status, etc. That database was posted earlier. That’s when cyber security expert Bob Diachenko saw it. But then it was removed. Later another 4 crore 20 lakh data was added to it. Later those records were destroyed by an unknown person.
The company has been under pressure for some time due to the leak of information from Facebook. In December last year, the information of 266 million users was leaked from Facebook. Earlier, the company was embroiled in the Cambridge Analytica scandal. References: Security Magazine, Times of India
