A commemoration program was held memory of the martyrs and wounded in the public uprising 2024.
In July August 2024, a commemoration was held at the conference room of the District Commissioner on the initiative of the district administration.
Deputy Commissioner Sifat Mehnaz presided over the discussion meeting of the injured and martyrs of the July-August 2024 uprising at the initiative of the district administration at the Meherpur District Commissioner’s conference room on Tuesday, December 3rd at 11:30 am.
At the beginning of the program, the discussion session started with recitation from the Holy Quran. At this time, everyone observed a minute of silence in memory of all the martyrs of July August 2024 public coup.
At that time, Khondoker Muiz Uddin, Hasnat Zaman, who was injured in the anti-discrimination student movement, Imtiaz Uddin, the convener of the anti-discrimination student movement in the district and member secretary Mojahidul Islam, etc.
Speaking – former Member of Parliament of Meherpur-1 Constituency and District BNP President Masud Arun, former Member of Parliament of Meherpur-2 Constituency and General Secretary of District BNP Amjad Hossain, District Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed, Additional Superintendent of Police Kamrul Ahsan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Roni Alam Noor, brave freedom fighter Captain Abdul Malek, District Jamaat Ameer Tajuddin Ahmed, Municipal BNP President Jahangir Biswas, District Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Kamruzzaman, Meherpur Press Club President Md. Fazlul haque montu,Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Meherpur District Amir Maulana Md Tajuddin Khan.
In the memorial meeting, the District Commissioner mentioned the names of 6 people who were injured in the anti-discrimination student movement in Meherpur district and at this time memorials were presented to the injured by the Meherpur district administration.
Finally, in memory of all the martyred and injured brothers and sisters, recitation and prayers are done from the Qur’an.
