Corona: The situation in Rajarbagh-Jatrabari-Lalbagh is dire

The number of people infected with the novel corona virus in the capital Dhaka is increasing day by day as compared to other places. The worst situation is in Rajarbagh, Jatrabari, Lalbagh and Kakrail areas. This information was obtained by reviewing the list provided by the government’s Institute of Pathology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).

According to the list released on Wednesday (April 29th), 130 corona-infected people have been identified in Rajarbagh so far. Six people have been identified in Jatrabari, six in Lalbagh and 74 in Kakrail.

Then there is Mohammadpur. 75 people have been identified here. Over fifty are affected in a few areas. Of these, 59 are in Mohakhali, 55 in Uttara and 52 in Bangshal.

49 people have been identified in Shahbag. There are more than 30 affected people in some areas. Of these, 39 were infected in Wari, 36 in Mitford, 36 in Mirpur 14, 36 in Dhanmondi, 38 in Maghbazar, 32 in Chawkbazar and 31 in Swamibagh.

The IEDCR has identified seven people in Baridhara, seven in Banani and 25 in Gulshan, known as the elite areas of the capital.

A total of 7,103 patients have been identified across the country. Of these, 3,423 people have been infected in Dhaka City alone, which is 54.63 percent of the total affected. So far 163 people have died. And 150 people have recovered from the treatment with institutional isolation.
