The newly formed ‘Media Cell’ of the Ministry of Health has said that any kits without government approval would not be acceptable for the detection of coronavirus. Unauthorized testing kits cannot be tested. The government is also working to recruit 2,000 new doctors and 6,000 nurses to combat the coronavirus.
This was said in a briefing on behalf of this ‘media cell’ of the Ministry of Health on Saturday afternoon. Additional Secretary (Administration) of Health Department and Convener of Media Cell Md. Habibur Rahman Khan presented various information. The Ministry of Health has formed this ‘media cell’ last Thursday to inform about their activities in the coronavirus situation and to prevent propaganda.
Habibur Rahman Khan, Chief Additional Secretary, Media Cell, said that there are unauthorized testing kits of various organizations in the market at present. There are also guidelines for rapid kits from the World Health Organization and the government is working accordingly.
The work that the government has done from the beginning to deal with the coronavirus has been consistently highlighted. It is said that the government is working to recruit 2,000 more doctors and 6,000 nurses to fight the coronavirus. Besides, 44 officials of the ministry are engaged in supervising medical services in all hospitals across the country. The district town has two separate vehicles for coronavirus testing.
A meeting of the media cell was held at 11 a.m. before the briefing. Initiatives were taken to make his report visible to the concerned persons including the ministers and secretaries of the ministry by monitoring the media on a daily basis. In addition, steps are taken to keep all the information about the coronavirus up to date.
