3 members of gang arrested in Gangni
The stolen motorcycle and domestic weapons and sticks used in the robbery were recovered.
Meherpur’s Gangni police station arrested 3 members of the dacoit gang. They were arrested from Amla in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia district and Sahebnagar and Saharbati in Gangni upazila on Tuesday midnight.
Those arrested are Rabiul Islam (38) son of Rabban Mandal of Jamalpur Madhyapara of Daulatpur Upazila of Meherpur District, Mohammad Nazir Hossain (53) son of deceased Fakir Mandal of Sahebnagar Village of Gangni Upazila of Meherpur District and Dulal Ali (35) son of Rafiqul Islam of Saharbati Village. Superintendent of Police Rafiul Alam confirmed this information in a press briefing.
Officer-in-charge of Gangni police station Abdur Razzak said, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police, Gangni police station arrested the accused in the robbery case with the cooperation of district intelligence police and cyber crime unit. At that time, the stolen motorcycle and domestic weapons and sticks used in the robbery were recovered. Besides, efforts are on to arrest other members involved in this incident.
Earlier on April 8, Saddam of Thanapara and his friend Lovelu reached a place called Bhangapara ground on their way from Saharbati to Garadob market at around 10:15 pm on Saturday, when a group of robbers blocked their way, tied their hands, feet and faces with towels and cut them with sharp weapons and injured them on a motorcycle and cash. Goes away with the mobile phone. Later local people rescued him and admitted him to Gangni Hospital.
In this incident, Saddam Hossain filed a case as plaintiff whose case number is 8 dated 09/04/2023 Eng. The arrested have been handed over to the district jail through the court.
