Police recovered two cocktail bombs in Meherpur’s Gangni. Two cocktail bombs were recovered from Kasba village of Dhankhola union of the upazila in the early hours of Monday night. Police have arrested two people involved in the incident. The arrested are Ziarul (38) son of Muchad Mandal of Kasba village and Zahir Uddin (58) son of Zaman Ali.
Md. Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge of Gangni police station, said that the arrested Ziarul and Zahir Uddin told the police to trap their opponents, that there are two cocktail bombs in a pile near Patan Ali’s house in Kasba village. On the basis of such information, SI Abdur Razzak of Gangni police station recovered two cocktail bombs wrapped with red tape from the spot with Mangiya force. When the police suspected about the matter, Ziarul and Zahir Uddin were interrogated and they themselves admitted that they had placed the cocktail bomb to trap the opponent. A case has been filed against both of them under the Explosives Act and handed over to the court.
